U.S. low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines has announced a major step in its expansion: the order of up to 100 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
The contract includes a firm order for 50 jets, valued at $4.4 billion at list price, along with options for an additional 50 units.

The first deliveries are scheduled for the first half of 2027, marking a historic moment for regional aviation in the United States. Avelo will be the first U.S. operator of the E195-E2, the largest and most modern aircraft in Embraer’s E-Jets family.
Complement to the Boeing 737NG fleet
Currently operating with 22 Boeing 737NG aircraft, Avelo is betting on the E195-E2 to expand its network. The model is recognized for its fuel efficiency, low noise levels, and extended range, features expected to support the airline’s growth into new markets.
“The U.S. air travel market is changing, and the E2 fits perfectly into our vision of Avelo’s unique role in this transformation. We are excited to partner with Embraer and introduce this best-in-class narrow-body aircraft to the U.S. market. Our passengers will enjoy the comfortable 2+2 seating layout, personal power outlets, spacious overhead bins, and quiet cabin,” said Andrew Levy, CEO of Avelo Airlines.
Accelerated growth
Founded in 2021, Avelo has already carried nearly 8 million passengers, and its network currently covers 47 U.S. cities, as well as Puerto Rico and three international destinations.
With the arrival of the E195-E2s, the airline is expected to further strengthen its position in the competitive U.S. low-cost market, while Embraer expands its presence in one of the world’s largest aviation markets.
